The original cottage was built in 1873. It had only two living rooms, an adjoining cellar, a barn and a stone barn. In 1916 (this year is inscribed on the beam of the roof), part of the cottage was rebuilt by Mr Kozák’s family and the village became known as “U Kozáků”. The existing two living rooms were enlarged and a bedroom was added. The wall adjacent to the cellar – almost one metre thick – was preserved. It is built of rough stone, as was the custom in this region. The new walls of the cottage are brick, only 45 cm thick. Two windows dating from 1873 have also been preserved, the other two are ‘modern’ windows dating from 1916.
The old cottage (as we call it) has been modernized, especially the new bathroom with toilet and the new entrance vestibule. We have extended the original hallway into a kitchen with dining area. During the renovation, we tried to preserve as many original structural elements as possible, revealing a beautiful 1873 archway between the kitchen and living room. There is an underfloor heating system under the tiled floor. We have used the original materials and at the same time modernised the premises for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday or long weekends for you, our guests. We have demolished the stone barn on the recommendation of a structural engineer. In its place we built a new cottage, which is intended for us.
